Gabriella Solti is a Hungarian-born Canadian artist who has a long standing interest in artist books. Her handmade limited edition letterpress books consider the book as an object to critically examine its history, its making, its usage, its content and its value. A winner of the prestigious Alcuin Society Awards for Excellence in Book Design in Canada in 2010, her limited edition book, “The Sensory Delights of Text” was Canada’s official entry in the February 2011 international book design competition in Leipzig: Schönste Bücher aus aller Welt (The Most Beautiful Books from all over the World).
Gabriella Solti holds a Master of Computer Science degree from Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary, a BFA from Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver, and will receive her master of fine arts degree in May 2014 from the University of Western Ontario. She has exhibited in Italy, Germany, US, Japan, UK and Canada, most recently in the MLC Gallery in Toronto. Her artist books/prints are in museums and special collection libraries across Canada and Europe.
